Control fear

In this article you will learn 4 steps to control fear once you identify it.

We are all afraid of something. However, many of those fears do not exist. You have to accept it.

Control fear

99% of the time our fears never come true. We are victims of our own creation of irrational thoughts. We become zombies shuffling through life. Fear drains our energy, our joy of living.

Fears are like bullies. When confronted, they flee. When challenged, they melt and dissipate.

What are we afraid of?

1) Failure: what we really fear is the appearance of failure.

3) Aging: what we really fear is our perception of aging and the loss of our youth. Life is beautiful at any age.

4) Change: we are afraid of uncertainty, ambiguity.

5) To loss: but we do not perceive everything we have at this moment and can have in the future.

6) To death: but we are alive now, and, anyway, I don't know what death means.

The only elements of fear that are real are the unpleasant feelings that accompany being afraid: anxiety, tension, ruminating negative thoughts, and unpleasant physical symptoms.

How to control fear?

1) Challenge your thoughts: Challenge fear with facts that disarm it.

2) Take practical measures: If your fears have any validity, then take the necessary actions to mitigate the potential problem. The resulting consequences are rarely as bad as the fear and often bring something positive with them.

3) The need for approval trap: Many fears revolve around our need for approval from others. Let go of this need for external approval and only approve of yourself.

4) See life as a fun adventure: You never know what's going to be around the corner, maybe something wonderful, maybe something difficult. But the landscape is always changing, and we are always learning and growing.

If you have spent a lifetime living in fear, you will need to spend time changing your thinking habits.
